The Marianna Middle School Lady Bullpups lost one and knotted one in doubleheader action Friday evening at home against two tough Port St. Joe Lady Sharks teams — 4-3 in Game One, and a 9-9 tie in Game Two.
Marianna sent Breanna Willis to the mound. After retiring the first 12 batters she faced, Willis surrendered two runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
For the Lady Bullpups offensive, Alli Ann Bigale went 1-for-2 with a walk and a reach on an error. Taniyah Robinson was also 1-for-2 with a walk. Shaniah “Strawberry” Spellman was 1-for-3 with a reach on an error.
In Game Two, Marianna sent Willis to the mound for two innings. She gave up five runs on three hits, four walks and a hit batter. Reagan Oliver came on in the third, giving up four runs on two walks, with four errors committed behind her.
Allie Ann Bigale, Hannah Spooner and Bonnie Bigale led the Lady Bullpups in offense, going 1-for-2. Taniyah Robinson and Caitlyn Carpenter were 1-for-3. Lexi Basford, Carpenter and Genesis Calhoun all reached base safely on errors.
The Lady Bullpups will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Graceville. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. with the second game starting at 6:15 p.m.
