The Chipola Lady Indians softball team finished what started out as a rocky weekend with a strong finish in Henderson, Nev.

After dropping three of their first four games by a combined 21 runs, the Lady Indians responded with two straight wins on Sunday, then two more on Monday.

After being blanked 8-0 by Salt Lake Utah in the first game on Sunday, Chipola rebounded with wins of 7-4 and 11-8 over Central Arizona and Arizona Western.

Ariell van Hook had monster performances in both games, combing to go 6-for-6 with two home runs, eight RBI and three runs scored.

Brittany Black also added a home run and three RBI against Arizona Western.

On Monday, it was all about pitching for the Lady Indians, as they took wins of 3-1 and 3-0 over Chattanooga State and North Idaho.

Emma Stevenson picked up the win against Chattanooga State, pitching a complete game and allowing just two hits and a walk.

Andrea Sullivan was the offensive hero with a three-run home run in the fifth inning.

The win against North Idaho came in dramatic fashion, as the Lady Indians broke up a scoreless tie with three runs in the top of the eighth inning.

Chipola got RBI hits from Trish Bliss and Hannah Lovestrand in the inning.

Black starred in the circle for Chipola, pitching the full eight and giving up just four hits and one walk while striking out five.

Chipola will next head to Leesburg, Ga., on Friday to play four games.
