Sleepy driver charged with possession

Marianna police arrested John Seay, 48, of Marianna Friday and charged him with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
According to a release from Marianna police, at approximately 1:38 a.m. officers noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the Wendy’s parking lot on U.S. Highway 90.
The release states that Seay was found asleep in the driver’s seat. During the investigation of the incident, Seay granted police permission to search the vehicle.The search resulted in the discovery of several glass smoking pipes which are commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics, according to police.
The release also states that the pipes contained a white, powdery substance which was found to be methamphetamine.
Seay was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
