A woman reported being robbed at knife point Sunday night in Marianna, saying the thief pushed her down and kicked her twice in the ribs after stealing her wallet.
The Marianna Police Department was called to Jackson Hospital around 11 p.m. Sunday to interview the woman, who was being treated there for her injuries.
The victim said she was attacked around 9:30 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the Auto Clinic at 4145 Lafayette St.
The victim told police she was walking to the Budget Inn from the Big/Little convenience store, when a man she had just walked past grabbed her from behind.
He put a knife against her throat and demanded her wallet, she later told the police.
After taking it, he shoved her to the ground and kicked her before running away towards the convenience store she’d just left, police report.
The woman had several scratches to her throat, along with tenderness to the ribs, police said.
The assailant-thief was described as a black man wearing dark pants and white tennis shoes at the time of the robbery.
