Three Marianna men were arrested Thursday and face charges of attempted felony murder and robbery.
The three were arrested in connection with the beating of a 75-year-old Cottondale resident early Tuesday.
Cottondale Police Chief William Watford said Thursday that the three are Joshua Pullum, 22; Willie Lloyd III, 23; and Kendrick Brown, 20, all of Marianna.
Watford said Cottondale police, assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, investigated the incident and located the three suspects.
All three were take to the sheriff’s office, where they were questioned and then arrested, Watord said.
According to an earlier news release from the Cottondale Police Department, the victim was approached as he got out of his vehicle at his residence some time between 1 and 3 a.m. Tuesday.
An altercation ensued and the victim was severely beaten, according to police. The assailants took the victim’s billfold and left.
The victim attempted to go inside his home to call for help, but couldn’t locate his keys. Police state he then blew his car horn until a neighbor awoke and found him slumped over the steering wheel.
The victim was taken to Southeast Medical Center in critical condition.
