Feds to fund new sidewalks

New sidewalks like the one on Caverns Road near Marianna High School will be built with money from the federal stimulus program.

Three sidewalks in Jackson County will be built with federal stimulus dollars routed to the county through the Florida Department of Transportation.
One of the sidewalks will run along River Forest Road, from Prough Drive to Caverns Road. The federal allocation through DOT is $85,000.
Another will run along Caverns Road from Bales Drive to Marianna High School. The allocation is $900,000.
The third will run along U.S. Highway 90 from an area just west of Green Street to an area east of Madison Street. The allocation for this project is $120,000.
