Man killed in industrial accident

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man was accidentally killed in an industrial accident Thursday.
Rufus Dudley, 48, was struck by a 12-foot two-by-four Thursday at 3 p.m. after it was ejected from a planer machine at Spanish Trail Lumber in Cypress.
Dudley was struck in the upper torso and died at the scene, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration was contacted due to the incident being an industrial accident.
The investigation by the sheriff’s office is continuing.
