A traffic stop on Saturday resulted in a DUI arrest for the driver and drug charges against two of his passengers. One of those passengers was charged with additional offenses as well.
According to a press release from the Marianna Police Department, 22-year-old Ladarius Dudley was pulled over at the intersection of Albert Street and Old Cottondale Road.
He was eventually charged with driving under the influence.
Passenger Marcus Daughtery, 26, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Another passenger, Jennifer Brown, no age given, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, resisting a law enforcement officer with violence, and battery on a law enforcement officer.
According to Lt. Francis Davis of the Marianna Police Department, Brown allegedly kicked at least two officers during the incident. Davis said Brown struggled with officers while allegedly trying to conceal drugs on her person. She also allegedly struggled with another officer who was summoned to retrieve the drugs.
In the same press release, Marianna police reported on two additional but unrelated drug arrests last weekend.
While in search of a suspect who ran as officers were trying to execute an arrest warrant, police came upon Michael Clemmons and Erica Myrick seated in a car on Village Court around 1 a.m. Sunday.
Officers discovered small amounts of crack cocaine and marijuana in the vehicle they were in, Davis said.
Clemmons and Myrick were each charged with possession of a controlled substance.
