Juveniles held for stealing weapons

» 13 Comments | Post a Comment

Two juveniles are facing charges of burglary and grand theft in Jackson County.
The victim, who lives on Flat Road near Greenwood, reported Saturday afternoon that five firearms and a gray briefcase were taken from his home.
The deputy responding to that call had recovered a firearm earlier in the shift and showed it to the victim, who identified the gun as his.
A subsequent investigation revealed that the two juveniles were responsible. Other firearms were recovered and returned to the owner, according to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
One of the juveniles was arrested and taken to Bay Detention Center, charged with armed burglary and grand theft.
A criminal affidavit was forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office accusing the other juvenile of the same offenses.
The suspects were not named because of their ages.
