Optimists host weekend tourney

The Marianna Optimist Club hosted its golf tournament Saturday at Indian Springs Golf Course with participants from 7 to 16 years of age competing for the top spot in their division. The golfers competed in a nine-hole tournament.
Taking the low score of 81 in the 7- and 8-year-olds division was Emma Ellis.
In the 10-year olds division, Sabino Pacheco led with a score of 81. Alex Borges picked up the win in the 11-year-olds class, shooting a 73 on the day.
The 13-year-olds had two winners, as Plinio Tuta and Billy Braxton tied on the day with a score of 67.
In the 16-year-olds group, Krista Tuta shot a 51 to take top honors.
Winners will be treated to breakfast at the Gazebo at the Marianna Optimist Club meeting Tuesday, morning and will be awarded a trophy for being the top golfer in their age division.
