It wasn’t in the cards Thursday night for the Marianna High School Lady Bulldogs volleyball team as they fell to Arnold in four games.
Marianna lost game one 25-23 after leading for the majority of the game.
Tied 11-11, the Lady Bulldogs moved to a 13-11 lead behind the serve of Tiffany Lawrence.
Michelle Bassin made it a 19-16 lead with Alex Sanchez pushing it to 22-17.
Sanchez was helped out at the serve line by an spectacular kill by Sharhae Williams.
The lead wasn’t enough, as the Arnold Lady Marlins crawled back in to take the win.
Arnold took the lead early in game two, but the Lady Bulldogs tied it 12-12.
Errors plagued the Lady Bulldogs early, but miscues by Arnold allowed Marianna to stay in the game.
In the end, it was Marianna who came up with a 25-23 win.
Game three was a 25-18 win for Arnold, and the Lady Bulldogs ran out of gas in the final game, losing 25-13.
Marianna will take its game on the road Monday when they travel to Bonifay to take on the Lady Blue Devils.
