The Marianna High School Bulldogs golf team fell short of their first win, with a loss to Walton at Indian Springs Thursday afternoon.

Walton took the match 161 to Marianna’s 180. Four of the five Bulldog golfers shot a 45, while Kaidd Golden, Tyler “Jabo” Harris, Cameron Oliver, and Alton Stone with Harrison Fuqua each shot a 51.

The Marianna junior varsity took to the greens also Thursday. Ryan Riley had the low score with a 45, followed by Jake Mitchell and Zac Davis with a 48. On the board with a 53 was Vance Coley. Junior varsity golfer Kyle Griffin did not have his scores available.

The Lady Bulldogs also participated, but were unable to complete the nine holes due to time restrictions.

The Bulldogs will return to the fairway Tuesday when they host Holmes County at Indian Springs Golf Course.
