The city of Malone lost an icon of the community Monday in the death of 87-year-old Dwiot Herring Sr.

Marianna Mayor Paul Donofro Jr. has entered a no contest plea to charges of boating under the influence and resisting arrest without violence, according to court records.

The mayor of Marianna was arrested and charged with boating under the influence Saturday evening and spent some time in the county jail that night before being released on the order of a judge.
