Grand Ridge O-Zone takes win over Liberty County

The Grand Ridge O-Zone All-Stars earned a chance at a District 5 Tournament title with a 7-2 win over Liberty County Wednesday night in Malone. Grand Ridge was set to face Malone Thursday night in the championship game.

Panhandle 13U takes district title

The Panhandle 13U All Stars are the Dizzy Dean district champs and will travel to St. Petersburg this weekend. The team will compete at the state level for a chance to head to the Dizzy Dean World Series.

Marianna wins in three innings

The Marianna Dixie Youth AAA All Stars picked up their second victory in as many attempts Saturday night in Vernon, with a 22-2 victory over the Cottondale AAA All Stars.

Nationals pipped by Paxton

The Marianna Dixie Youth AA Nationals lost a heartbreaker in their opening game at District Saturday night in Paxton.  Tied at 14 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, Ponce de Leon picked up the single run needed to take the 15-14 win.

AL all stars fall to South Walton

The Marianna Dixie Youth AA American league team ended their season Saturday night in Paxton, suffering their second loss of the tournament and eliminating them from further competition.

Marianna falls to Chipley

The Marianna Dixie Youth AA Machine Pitch American League All Stars took the field Friday night in Paxton with first game jitters. But the 28-22 loss to Chipley’s AA all stars is not indicative of the caliber of play the Marianna team showed on the field.

National Dixie All Stars chosen

The Marianna Dixie Youth AA National League All Stars are set to take the field to compete for a chance to win a district championship. The National League will be coached by veteran coach Rex Torbett, with assistance from Larry Waldron and Ken Davis.
