Woman dies in accident

An accident on State Road 71 near Interstate 10 claimed the life of a Marianna woman Friday afternoon.
Rita M. Eastman, 87, was westbound in the McDonald’s restaurant driveway at State Road 71 and crossed into the path of a truck traveling north on SR 71 at the driveway, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The driver of the truck, 58-year-old Glenn W. Brock of Vernon, took evasive action but the two vehicles collided head-on, according to the highway patrol.
