A Sneads woman stands accused of stealing more than $160,000 from a former employer over the course of two years.
Elizabeth Glisson, 43, is charged with grand theft, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office.
A former accounts payable clerk for Quincy Farms, a mushroom operation, Glisson allegedly diverted money into her personal account. She also allegedly used the company’s Sams Club Credit Card for unauthorized purchases, according to the charge sheet.
The 64 Sam’s Club purchases she allegedly made totaled $18,7022, authorities said. Of the 64,  61 of the purchases were made in Leon, Jackson and Gadsden counties between February 2007 and February 2008, and totalled $17,829, according to the affidavit.
Two of the other three purchases were allegedly made in Dothan, Ala.  and totalled $600. The third was reportedly made in Black River Falls, Wis., and totalled $272.
Authorities allege that Glisson wrote more than 50 company checks to herself between January 2007 and May 2008, totalling $141,886.
Quincy Farms business checks are made in triplicate. According to authorities, in 50 cases Glisson allegedly made original company checks payable to her personal bank and credit accounts. But on the duplicates kept in office records, she allegedly put the names of legitimate vendors who did business with the company.
According to authorities, Glisson’s personal credit and banking accounts were subpoenaed in the course of the investigation. After a review of the accounts, authorities concluded that “it was obvious that Glisson did divert money from Quincy Farm’s bank account to her personal credit and bank accounts,” the affidavit stated.
The checking account discrepancies were discovered in an internal audit undertaken after the fraudulent credit card activity was discovered.
In the affidavit, authorities say that for more than a year, Glisson had the credit card company mail invoices to the business address in care of an alias, Elizabeth Chesi, but later had them sent to her personal address in Sneads, still bearing the name of Quincy Farms in care of Elizabeth Chesi. Investigators also cited a second alias name, Elizabeth Cheshire, that Glisson allegedly used.
The personal address involved is 7922 D’Alemberte Road in Sneads, the same address listed as her place of residence in the Jackson County jail docket.
She was taken into custody by Sneads Police Chief Burt McAlpin on behalf of neighboring Gadsden County.
She later posted bond, which was set at $50,000, and was released to await further action in the case.
A person answering the telephone at Glisson’s listed address identified herself as Elizabeth Glisson and declined to comment on the matter.

Hey DUMBER ( Mike or ED ) which ever one it fits best, you need not worry about this lady or have the balls to say something to her or her husband in person yall computer tuff guys. Ed is this you or are you shootn them targets? The truth is she is a very nice person who needs to be left alone and not drug through the mud. She has more values than most of yall chicken crap talkers who get tuff on line. She has taken responsibility and it is between her and the courts so chill out cowards and mind your own business. Why do you want to run down the SPD on this? They didn’t ask for the credit.

God is forgiving. God will forgive and it is God who will forgive her when she asks for it. Meanwhile, we don’t live in heaven and here on earth God said “Thou shall not steal.“ I don’t think it is debatable. I personally do not think there are any gray areas either.

Oh please of course God is very merciful and forgiving, no one should ever doubt that. That is not the point or the problem.  The problem is that she is a THIEF that “confessed” AFTER she was caught and even then has not owned up to what all she really stole from a company that had employeed her and employeed many innocent LAW ABIDING people that worked hard for their paycheck..working not stealing. She needs to woman up instead of trying to place the blame on everyone but herself and trying to play the “pity party, woe is me” card. I bet when she was out on those hunting trips, river runs, river races, and whatever else she was doing with the money that she stole she certainly wasn’t thinking about anyone but herself and what a great time she was having not the least concerned about the fact that she was hurting many people. That is the bottom line.  She stole the money….she needs to pay for what she has done.

Is there really any point in continuing the negative comments about the individual? Let those WITHOUT sin be the one to cast the first stone. I don’t think there is an individual that has posted a comment that is sin free. The lady has confessed and obviously is ready to face what is coming her way. At this point, the family needs our prayers, not our negative comments about the situation. Prayer still changes people and regardless of what she has done, God loves her and her family.

Elizabeth says she is so thankful for her friends but I would bet that if she had stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from them or their place of employment that they depend on to be able to eat or pay their mortgage they certainly would no longer be her “friends”. I wonder why she was allowed to come down to the police station for questioning instead of being picked up and hauled directly to jail like most thieves would have been? She always said there was nothing that she hated worse than a thief, she must really despise herself!! She was not concerned about her coworkers’ jobs or her family being
embarassed when she took over $160,000.00 dollars and living large. She caused this! NO ONE forced her.  This was done out of GREED NOT NEED.  And I would bet she confessed because she KNOWS that she did ALOT more. So she better be glad God is merciful because if not she would be in worse shape than what she is. She was mad at the reporter but if she bothered to check the reporter did nothing but report information from the probable cause affidavit that anyone could get from the original posting in Tallahassee.

I agree with you Mas_32!!! She should be very ashamed of herself, some of those families are STILL struggling, wondering where their families next meal is going to come from. Elizabeth you have no right to be mad at anyone but yourself for doing what YOU did. Maybe you should have to pay restitution to the workers that lost their jobs due to this mess. Makes you wonder how she came up with her bond!!! Bet she was doing more than what they found. Look harder FDLE!!!!

Ms. Glisson stated “God help Buckhalter” she may want to be saying God help me. She stole from a company that had to lay employees off at Christmas. Parents were worring how to feed their children and how they were going to afford christmas presents for them, while she was taking trips across country. That is what we need to focus on here, not how she feels that the paper has been mean to her or embarssed her family, because she obviously didn’t think of others as she was taking the money.

What difference does it make that the Floridan listed her address & the Democrat didn’t? Not like anyone’s gonna stalk her & take her money….FDLE took it I’m sure!
