Warrants are being sought for the arrest of six men police plan to charge in connection with the beating of another man Sunday, according to Marianna Police Chief Hayes Baggett.
According to a press release from the Marianna police, officials have filed complaints against and are seeking arrest warrants for Willie Robert Lloyd III, 22, of 4224 Allen St.;  Gary Turner, 23, of 3070 Carters Mill Road, Apt. 5A; Clay Brunson, 18, of 4366 Pearl St., Lot 21, all of Marianna; Billy R. Lee Jr., 27, of 7855 Seminole St., Sneads; Eyvind Jerrell Murphy, 21, of 5947 Grandberry Drive, Cypress; and Gary L. Murphy Jr., 28, also of 5947 Grandberry Drive.
They are being charged with felony battery and tampering with a victim in the case, according to the press release.
According to Marianna police Capt. Bill Bryant, police are asking the state attorney’s office to submit requests to court officials for the six warrants.
Police say the victim, Toriano Decorytell “Cory” Grant, of Marianna, was seriously injured in the beating. According to Bryant, Grant’s nose and a bone near his eye were fractured.
According to the police press release, officers were twice called to the location where the beating victim was discovered Sunday. They first went on reports of several men on the premises with guns, but none were found.
Later in the day, officers were again called to the address on reports of a beating in progress.
Officers arrived to find that Grant had suffered extensive injuries to his face and upper torso, and that both his eyes were swollen shut.
According to the press release, several men approached Grant and first accused him of stealing a computer, and then of being the person who called police to the scene the first time that day.
When he denied having done that, the men allegedly “jumped him,” according to police reports. All the suspects had left the home by the time law enforcement arrived the second time, according to police reports.

Six pieces of scum. I can understand 2 men fighting, but six men jumping one? That’s messed up. Billy Ray! What the heck dude… I thought you were better than that. Oh well. I guess I was wrong! People that would do something like this definitely need to be locked up. Learn better ways to control your anger. I know that’s hard for uneducated people to do, but work at it. Maybe you’ll get there someday. In the meantime, I hope you guys have fun in jail with your new boyfriends =]
