A Graceville man was arrested Wednesday after two suspected moonshine stills and some home-brewed whiskey were found at his residence on Garner Street, according to the complaint authorities filed against him.
John Barnes, 54, was granted a conditional release after his first appearance in court Thursday on charges of possession of moonshine still and apparatus, possession of moonshine/whiskey-under one gallon, and the sale or delivery of a controlled substance.
In a complaint filed with the clerk of court’s office, Barnes allegedly delivered a hydrocodone pill to an undercover officer and another one to a confidential informant back in September. The officer was with the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco within Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Subsequently, the ABT obtained a warrant to search Barnes’ residence at 5488 Garner Street.
There, on Wednesday, they found two complete moonshine stills and a decanter containing less than a gallon of moonshine, authorities reported in the complaint.
