Marianna Middle School teacher suspended

A Marianna Middle School teacher was suspended after being accused of making “racially inappropriate comments,” according to a Jackson County School District official.
Superintendent Danny Sims confirmed Wednesday that Greg Howard, a seventh-grade social studies teacher at MMS, was suspended Monday.
The reason for the suspension, said Sims, is to investigate the allegation.
Sims declined to confirm any other details of the incident on Wednesday, stating he would be able to provide more information Thursday morning.
