Authorities are searching for thieves who stole outside air conditioning units at new home sites over the past couple of weeks.

According to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the first one went missing on or around Feb. 11, when someone removed a unit from a new site-built house at 2730 Carriage Drive in Marianna. The residence was built for sale, and was unoccupied.

On March 2, another outside unit went missing from a newly constructed home at 1407 Church St. in Cypress.

Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in either area is asked to call the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 482-9664, or CrimeStoppers at 526-5000.
