Jackson County has applied for an $800,000 grant to build a new main fire station and another $600,000 to buy and aerial truck.
If they’re successful, Jackson County Fire Rescue will have achieved a three-point score for the department.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office just got word that it will be able to buy a “skid unit,” with a 50-50 match from the Florida Department of Forestry.
