Calhoun man dies of swine flu

According to officials with the Calhoun County Health Department, a 25-year-old man died one week ago of complications from swine flu.
Dr. Gene Charbonneau, director of the health departments in Calhoun and Liberty counties, said Thursday the man apparently contracted swine flu in Duval County.
Dr. Charbonneau stated the man had gone to a clinic in Duval County with flu-like symptoms and was offered Tamiflu, but declined it.
The man then returned to Calhoun County, where his symptoms worsened. He was eventually taken to Jackson Hospital in Marianna and placed on a ventilator.
At some point, he tested positive for influenza A. According to Dr. Charbonneau, the Centers for Disease Control are telling health departments that any influenza A positive is “99 percent certain” to be swine flu.
After two weeks at Jackson Hospital, the man was transferred to Bay Medical Center in Panama City suffering from kidney failure. The man died Nov. 6 at Bay Medical.
The health department does not release names of epidemic victims. The Nov. 9 issue of The Washington County News reported it was announced at a Vernon football game Nov. 6 that Dale Whiddon of Altha had died of swine flu.
The Florida Department of Health urges residents who think they have the flu to avoid contact with others and contact a physician. Many companies are urging employees with any sign of illness to remain at home, rather than risk infecting their coworkers.

If your name means what I think it does I owe you more respect than that. You are right, we should have had more respect for the family than what we showed. It is called freedom of speech, one of the many rights I spent years in the military making sure we could enjoy. I don’t need some punk telling me what they think is or is not appropriate. We all know what happened was tragic, I hate it for the family but if you had an ounce of common sense you would see they were basically being called racist for not getting the vaccination and I defended them.

As far as the swine flu is concerned, I have not yet decided if I will take the vaccination. The risks are very substantial and a medical doctor will need to discuss my medical history with me to determine if the vaccination will put me at an increased risk of severe side effects. All who have objected to the vaccine have done so over the many life threatening and debilitating side effects that have presented themselves in drug trials. Only a left wing racist would suggest it had anything to do with a President who just happens to be half black. Take a long look in the mirror, you are a cancer on society.

Furthermore, your right, people are not getting the shot( not shoot!) because the President, who is in no way related to this topic, is half black. It has nothing to do with the side effects many who have got the shot have experienced.
