Tatum, Athans

Austin and Susan Tatum of Tallahassee are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth LaTrelle, to William James Athans, son of Ann Athans and Dennis Harding of Ft. Pierce.

Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Jimmie A. Irwin and the late Henry S. Irwin and Margie L. Tatum, and the late Clifford A. Tatum, all of Marianna. William is the grandson of Lula Lekas and the late William Lekas of Ft. Pierce, and the late Julie Harding of Welaka.

Elizabeth is a 1999 graduate of Leon High School. She earned her B.Sc. degree in neuroscience from Furman University in 2003, and her M.D. degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 2008. Elizabeth is currently in her second year of pediatric residency at Orlando Health Care-Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies.

William graduated from John Carroll High School in 1999. He earned his B.Sc. degree from the University of Florida in microbiology in 2003, and his M.D. degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 2008. William is currently in his second year of orthopedic surgery residency at Orlando Health Care-Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Orlando in Maitland.
