A Jackson County juvenile was arrested in Wausau Friday for the theft of an all terrain vehicle.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office received information early Friday morning regarding a possible burglary at Wausau Motors.

Before the owners of Wausau Motors were even aware that the theft had taken place, deputies of WCSO had taken the juvenile into custody and recovered a stolen ATV, according to a WCSO report.

Upon recieving the report of a possible burglary, deputies pulled over a suspicious vehicle within minutes of receiving the tip, according to the report.

Bolt cutters and an ATV were found in the bed of the truck that was driven by the white male juvenile from Jackson County.

The juvenile was taken into custody and charged with theft, burglary of an occupied dwelling and possession of burglary tools then transported to the Washington County Jail, according to the report.

“You can’t get a better outcome that to return stolen property before the business owner even knows it’s missing,” Sheriff Haddock stated in a news release. “Thanks to residents getting involved in the safety of our community, our deputies were able to successfully resolve this case very quickly.”
